Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has familiarized himself with projects to be implemented in Montenegro by Azerbaijan.
Podgorica Mayor Miomir Mugosa informed the Head of State that Montenegro-based AzMont Azerbaijan-Montenegro Economic and Cultural Center and Azerbaijan`s diplomatic representation in Montenegro had raised the issue of naming one of the streets in the city “Baku”.
According to Mr. Mugosa, as a result of consultations among the Montenegrin Government, the ministries of Culture, and Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the city parliament and the Office of the Mayor, the parliament of Podgorica decided - on February 12, 2013 - to name one of the central streets in the city “Baku”.
Miomir Mugosa said AzMont Azerbaijan-Montenegro Economic and Cultural Center and Azerbaijan`s diplomatic representation in Montenegro also put forward an initiative to erect a bust to great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid in Podgorica.
As a result, the Podgorica Mayor told the Azerbaijani leader, the city parliament unanimously voted in favor of the erection of a bust to Huseyn Javid in a park located near the buildings of the Presidential Administration, the Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The 1.6m-height silver bust will stand on a white marble pedestal.
