A road leading from the city centre to the Olympic Stadium will be built in Baku, spokesman for Azeryolservis Punhan Mursaliyev told Trend today.
He added that this road will be laid in parallel to the Heydar Aliyev and Ziya Buniyadov prospects. It will start from Hasan Aliyev Street and stretch up to the Olympic Stadium. The road running to over seven kilometres will be six-lane. Tunnels and pedestrian crossings are planned for the new road.
The new road will allow traffic movement directly from the centre of Baku to the Olympic Stadium, reducing the volume on the Heydar Aliyev prospect and Azadliq Square will be connected to the highway.
Construction is to start soon.
