Azerbaijan Cuisine Festival opens in South Korea

The opening ceremony of “Azerbaijan Cuisine Festival” has taken place at Seoul Millennium Hilton Hotel. The event was supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Korea and Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Association, SEBA.

Journalists and public figures from Korea along with Azerbaijani Embassy staff participated in the event, which provided a good opportunity to taste Azerbaijan`s cuisine samples.

Charge d`Affairs of the Embassy of Azerbaijan R. Teymurov, in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of cuisine in promoting Azerbaijan`s culture and in strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries. “For the first time Azerbaijani cuisine is presented in South Korea, and this event plays an important role in mutual promotion of the two countries` culture and the enhancement of bilateral cooperation,” he noted.

Mr. Teymurov said that for Azerbaijani people food is an essential part of the country`s culture and it`s deeply rooted in the history, traditions and values of the nation.

Azerbaijani chef from the National Culinary Association, Anar Gasimov, highlighted the specifics of Azerbaijani dishes and promised to present the most delicious meals of Azerbaijan cuisine during the festival.

The event showcased a wealth of Azerbaijani traditions and culture. Some of the dishes of the Azerbaijani cuisine such as pilaf, ash gara, lamb kebab, dana bastirma were presented to the guests at the opening day of cuisine festival.
The festival will last until 30 April.
