“We highly estimate the constructive and fair attitude and decisive position of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) towards all directions on Azerbaijan, especially on the liberation of the territories occupied by Armenia,” said Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Alakbarov addressing the meeting of OIC Labor Ministries’ senior officials.
He said that in response to this, Azerbaijan’s activity is increasing within the organization. According to the Minister, 4 years ago – in 2009, Baku was declared the capital of Islamic Culture: “In 2018, Nakhchivan, an ancient Azerbaijani land, will be declared the capital of Islamic Culture. All these are successful results of the political course founded by Heydar Aliyev and continued by President Ilham Aliyev for strengthening cooperation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Azerbaijan. Holding such an influential event within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the eve of the 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev will be remembered as a pleasant and important coincidence.”
