As part of a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Baku magazine and Azerbaijani embassy in Austria, the “Fly to Baku: Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Vienna Art History Museum (Kunsthistorisches).
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and a tireless promoter of culture and art of Azerbaijan in the world Leyla Aliyeva attended the event.
Delivering a speech at the event, head of Exhibitions at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Christian Holzl spoke of the significance of the exhibition.
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva addressed the event. She stressed that the first girls` school and first democratic republic in the East was established in Azerbaijan.
The Vice president said Azerbaijan`s capital was combination of modernity and antiquity.
Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva also briefed the event participants on the activity of the Baku magazine. She underlined the importance of the exhibition in presenting works by Azerbaijani artists to the world. The Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation added the exhibition had already been organized in London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow and Rome.
Curator of the “Fly to Baku: Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” Herve Mikaeloff expressed satisfaction with the opening of this exhibition in Vienna and wished successes to it.
Then the participants viewed the exhibition.
Paintings by well-known contemporary artists such as Altay Sadikhzade, Leyla Aliyeva, Museyib Amirov, Adil Yusif, Zarnishan Yusif, Aliyar Alimirzayev and Rashad Alakbarov are displayed in the
“Fly to Baku” exhibition.
The exhibition will last till May 26.
