The exact date of the beginning of Ramadan month in Azerbaijan has been made public.
Deputy director of the Shamakhi-based Tusi Astrophysical Observatory of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Khidir Mikayilov told that the new moon denoting the beginning of Ramadan month in Azerbaijan will be seen on July 8 at 12:16: “According to the astronomic calendar, that night is the evening of intent (An-Niyyah) and the month of fasting will start on July 9.”
According to him, the new moon will be seen on August 7 at 02:52.
The Caucasian Muslim Board will issue a fatwa in connection with the beginning of Ramadan month. Under the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, Azerbaijan will celebrate Ramadan holiday on August 8-9.
