Shamakhi-based Tusi Astrophysical Observatory of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has clarified the inability of the people to see New Moon.
Deputy Director of the Observatory Khidir Mikayilov told that New Moon occurred yesterday at 12:16.
He said that New moon occurs when Moon, and Sun lie in a straight line: “Its illuminated part may be seen on July 10. He said that if the weather is cloudless, everyone can see the new moon on July 10.”
Issuing a fatwa in connection with the beginning of Ramadan month is the right of the Caucasian Muslim Board. According to their fatwa the first day of Ramadan month falls on July 10.
