On August 15, the meeting of the Foreign Ministers’ Council was held as a part of the 3rd summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS). APA reports that foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on the prospects of future activity for strengthening cooperation among the Turkic speaking states in various spheres. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States Halil Akinci, TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasanov, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, Chairman of the Turkic Academy Sakir Ibrayev and Chairman of Azerbaijan Elder’s Council, MP Fattah Heydarov addressed the meeting.

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov greeted the delegations of friendly and fraternal countries and representatives of the organizations related with the council participated in the meeting and spoke about the importance of the meeting. Elmar Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan supports the activity of the Secretariat of Foreign Ministers’ Council and is waiting for new and substantial proposals regarding the preparation and implementation of the development strategy of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu noted the high-level organization of the next meeting of the Foreign Ministers’ Council in Gabala. He touched upon the enhancement of regional relations and highly appreciated efforts made towards the promotion of joint cooperation

At the end, the foreign ministries of the four countries signed a cooperation protocol. In order to announce decisions to be passed at the summit. CCTS Secretary General Halil Akinci plans to hold a press conference on August 16, 2013. The decisions made at the foreign ministers’ meeting will be submitted to the meeting of heads of states on August 16 for confirmation.

The meeting of high-ranking officials committee of foreign ministries was held on August 14.
