October 9 – the day of the presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be a non-working day, this is said in the Electoral Code.
According to the recent amendments and annexes to the Electoral Code, the day of voting is considered a non-working day in the area, where election (referendum) is held.
According to the document adopted at the Parliament’s meeting on April 30, 2013, and confirmed by Azerbaijan’s President, if the voting falls on the holiday considered a non-working day in the Labor Code, the Central Election Commission schedules it for another working day of the month. The amendment serves to regulate the citizens’ right to rest.
