Several metro stations operating in Azerbaijan are considered to be reconstructed, deputy chief of Baku Metro Rizvan Bayramov told.

He said that reconstruction works would mainly concern the stations, which have been exploited since 1967: “This year, only 28 May station is planned to be totally reconstructed. In the coming years, Sahil metro station can also be closed for reconstruction. Because this station is really in need of repair. However, a decision in this regard will be announced after concretization”.

Emphasizing that Nizami metro station also has the need for the renovation, Bayramov noted that it requires great courage: “Because, Nizami station is a pearl of Baku Metro. Will they hand over the station to us in the same look? We have received a number of offers in this regard. Our requirements on repair of this station are bigger and if they are met, then we can think about that”.
