Azerbaijan to spend AZN 1.6bn on education next year

AZN 1653,4m (up AZN 123m or 0.8% compared to 2013, AZN 200,3m or 13,8% compared to 2012) has been allocated for education 2014. APA reports that this is shown in 2014 draft state budget.

AZN 851m or 51.5% will be spent on incomplete and secondary education, AZN 488,9m or 26.6% on research, AZN 33m or 2% on higher education, AZN 158,7 m or 9.6% on pre-school and primary education, AZN 78,6m or 4.8% on vocational schools and lyceums, AZN43,2m or 2.5% on boarding schools and special schools.

For the first time AZN2.5m has been allocated for promotion of studies on Azerbaijan and Caspian region at the higher schools and scientific-research institutions.
