President of Vatican`s Pontifical Council visits Heydar Aliyev Center

President of the Vatican`s Pontifical Council for Culture Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi has visited the Heydar Aliyev Center as part of his trip to Azerbaijan. He saw the Heydar Aliyev Museum and its exhibition halls.

Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov said that the facility works to study and popularize policy of statehood and legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev. He also noted that the Center is implementing projects aimed at popularizing the history and culture of Azerbaijan abroad. It played host to a number of events aiming to develop intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

Ravasi viewed photographs and other items reflecting life and political activity of the national leader and vital events, which have occurred in the political, cultural, economic lives of Azerbaijan since the beginning of the 20th century.
The Cardinal also viewed the exhibition “Pearls of Azerbaijan: in the tideway of history”. He was particularly interested in the past, customs, national and spiritual values of Azerbaijan. In the “Mini Azerbaijan” exhibition, the Cardinal saw the models of historical and modern architectural monuments of the country.
