Azerbaijan signs 4 memoranda with Iran

Minister of Economic Affairs has disseminated an information.
Today Azerbaijani "Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park" LLC, "Azerbaijan Investment Company" JSC, "Azersun Holding" Ltd. and Iranian "IranKhodro and "Darou Pakhsh" have signed four memoranda in connection with the implementation of joint projects in the field of production of cars and medicines in Azerbaijan.

According to the information, "Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park" and the Iranian company "Darou Pakhsh" signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the project on joint production of medicines, in line with modern standards. The project is a joint venture involving "Darou Pakhsh", Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Azersun Holding.

The company plans to produce 52 items of medicines (painkillers, antibiotics and vitamins). Initially manufactured products will be designed for the local market.
In addition, the Azerbaijani company "Azevrocar" and Iranian company "Iran Khadro" signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the project of creation of joint production in Azerbaijan of cars and spare parts.

At the initial stage the brand of cars suitable for co-production of the project will be determined, then a business plan will be prepared. The plant will be built in two years on the territory of Neftchala industrial quarter in Azerbaijan.
In addition, AIC and "Azevrocar" signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the organization of the project on the production of passenger cars and spare parts in Azerbaijan. According to the document, "Azevrocar" will prepare and submit the necessary documents to AIC for obtaining the status of a resident of Neftchala industrial quarter.
The contractual and legal framework has been esrablished between Azerbaijan and Iran. More than 120 documents, with 40 of them in the economic sphere, have been signed since then.
