New Zealand-Azerbaijan friendship group created

A New Zealand-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group was created at the New Zealand’s legislative body, the House of Representatives, on October 6.

The group was established upon the initiative of the Azerbaijani embassy in Australia.

The 8-man group is chaired by Todd Muller, a member of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade.

Other members of the group are Mahesh Bindra, Jami-Lee Ross, David Bennett, Stuart Smith, Sarah Dowie, Mark Mitchell, andAndrew Bayley.

Azerbaijan`s parliament has a 17-man friendship group with New Zealand, while the group is headed by MP Khanlar Fatiyev.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and New Zealand have been established on June 29, 1992.
