"Because Azerbaijan's economy is small it has been affected by the processes in the world economy”.
Deputy minister of economy Sevinj Hasanova said at the 2nd Banking Forum "Adaptation of the banking system to a new stage of development" in Baku.
According to her, economy of Azerbaijan will be diversified more rapidly: "In the coming years, we will witness the opening of a number of industrial enterprises. As a result of the reforms, the volume of transit transportation reached 7.9 mln. tons. The launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project will increase Azerbaijan's transit potential”.
She noted that Turkey's experience should be an example in improving banking system:"Turkeys strategy to improve banking system started in 2001 is also an example for our banks".
