US Ambassador Matthew Bryza, whose diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan
ended, left the country on January 3, spokesperson for the US embassy in
Baku Keith Bean told.
The US Senate didn’t approve Mr. Bryza as the ambassador to Azerbaijan.
Bryza said at the press conference in Baku on December 29 that if his
candidacy was not put to vote at the Senate, he would have to leave
Azerbaijan until January 3.
Аdam Sterling will hold office of the US Charge d’Affaires in Azerbaijan until the appointment of the new ambassador.
