Azerbaijani judoists compete in the European Championship kicked off today in Chelyabinsk, Russia. According to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Orkhan Safarov (60 kg) will face Dutch Jeroen Muren, Tarlan Karimov (66 kg) Moldavian Igor Soroca, Nijat Shikhalizade Andorran Daniel Garcia Gonzales, Rustam Orujov (73 kg) Estonian Yevgeni Salejev, while Elkhan Rajabli (81 kg) Serbian Alexey Nefedov.

The event brought together officials from Montenegro, representatives of the diplomatic corps. Budapest has hosted an international tournament in rhythmic gymnastics, which was attended by Azerbaijani sportswomen. According to the press service for the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the Azerbaijani gymnasts won 21 medals. 14-15-year-old juniors won 13 awards, main of which was the gold medal in team competition (Mansoura Bagieva, Marina Durunda, Gulsum Safizada and Nilufyar Niftaliyeva).
