Jabrail City
Jabrail Region was founded on August 8, 1930, in Azerbaijan. The region is located in the south-east foots of Lesser Caucasus. It has borders with Iran Islam Republic in the south side, in left side of Araz River, Zangilan – in south-west, Gubadli – in west, Khojavend – in north and Fuzuli regions – in east. The area of the region is 1050 km², centre is Jabrail city.
The region was occupied by Armenian invaders on August 23, 1993 and was damaged in amount of $13,928 mln. Internal displaced persons from Jabrail were settled in near 2,000 settlements of 58 regions – in tent camps, freight cars and hostels.
